Announced last March 21, 2013 together with the Canon EOS 700D, the Canon EOS 100D is considered to be the world's smallest and lightest APS-C format Digital SLR camera available in the market yet with Sensor size of 22.3 x 14.9mm and 1.6x crop factor.

The Canon EOS 100D offers similar features of the Canon EOS M (The First Mirrorless Camera of the company) with 18 Megapixel, a full HD Movie/Video capability, 3.0 inches Clear View II TFT Multi-Touch Fixed LCD screen (with 1,040,000 screen dots), and the Digic 5 Image Processor.

Aside of being a lightweight and small Digital SLR, the Canon EOS 100D delivers sharp and superb images which features 18 Megapixels CMOS Sensor complemented with the DIGIC 5 Image Processor. The Canon EOS 100D also comes with the 9-point autofocus system combined with the Hybrid CMOS AF II with 80% frame coverage. Additional feature includes a higher ISO range of 100-12800 which is expandable to 25600 with boost considered to be good in bright and low light situations.

Other features of the Canon EOS 100D includes the smudge-resistant coating which keeps the monitor clear even in bright sunlight situation. The Full High Definition Movie/Video at 1920x1080p is supported with Movie Servo, a better feature for continuous autofocus and includes video snapshots.

The Rear view of the Canon EOS 100D White Edition. It includes the Menu and Info options located on the left side of the camera's rear view while the Live View Setting is located near the Viewfinder. It also comes with the delete option located at the lower right.
The Canon EOS 100D includes an entry-level Mode Dial located on the top left of the camera which includes Manual, Av, Tv, Program, Scene Intelligent Auto, Flash Off, Creative Auto, Macro, Landscape, Sports, Portrait and SCN exposure modes. The ISO and Shutter Speed dials are also located on the left side of the camera. Additionally, it comes with the built-in flash and even Hot Shoe for external flash.
